the miracle of olive oil

It's available as a book and as an ebook.
Is olive oil truly a miracle? If we define a miracle as an amazing or wonderful occurrence, it certainly is!
Olive oil’s wonderful green or golden colour is attractive, its smell is delightful, its flavour is luscious and unusual, its feel in the mouth and on the skin is sensual and its light (from an olive-oil lamp) is soft and beautifying. In addition, olive oil – as part of a healthy diet – can help prevent and treat many ailments, thanks to constituents such as its monounsaturated fats and antioxidant polyphenols.
THE MIRACLE OF OLIVE OIL explains where olive oil comes from, what’s in it, its health benefits, and its use as a beauty aid and in cooking.
So valuable a commodity has olive oil been over the centuries that it’s easy to understand why:
The Greek writer Homer, writing in the ODYSSEY (the second oldest extant work of Western literature) in the 8th century BC, referred to olive oil as ‘liquid gold’.
The Greek physician Hippocrates (460 – 370 BC), often called the ‘father’ of medicine, referred to olive oil as ‘the great healer’.
